England Stamp Duty Changes from 1st of April 2025

Please note that as from 1st April 2025, there are changes to the rates relating to Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT). The changes will affect the amount of SDLT payable on completion and the same can be calculated on the Government website.

CHANGES BEING MADE

* The nil rate threshold for first time buyers of £425,000 will revert to the previous level of £300,000.

* The nil rate threshold of £250,000 will revert to the previous level of £125,000.

We cannot guarantee that your completion will take place before the changes are implemented and we will not be liable for any additional SDLT payable. We are expecting February and March 2025 to be a very busy time for us conveyancers.  We shall continue to provide the best level of service that we can and prioritise transactions that may reasonably be able to complete by 31 March where possible
